Overview: The client
is engaged is a large supplier of agricultural produce.
When they decided to create a private online exchange to
facilitate the buying and selling of agricultural produce,
they turned to us for a solution.
Challenge: The objectives
of the project :
- ease of use, to enable users with low Internet awareness
to make use of the site
- low bandwidth demands
- support for a high level of transactions
Genie Solution: Within
12 calendar weeks, we completed an online exchange that
featured an auction engine supporting proxy bidding, auto
extension, an extensive monitoring system, quick response
time for short duration auctions and multiple auction participation
facility.
Users could get information using a unique search engine,
which allows a user to search only existing data using multiple
parameters, which are generated on the fly, depending on
the product or commodity.
Bandwidth requirements were minimized using various caching
techniques.
Results: The site has
been running successfully for over 6 months now and is currently
in the next phase of development.
